Christiano Ronaldo’s goal has made him the top scorer in the Arab Club Champions Cup so far.

Cristiano Ronaldo’s influential performance pushes Al Nassr closer to their maiden title, as they impressively dispatched Moroccan heavyweights, Raja Casablanca, 3-1, in the 2023 Arab Club Champions Cup quarter-final. The Riyadh-based club has quickly risen as a powerhouse, enlisting the likes of Talisca, Brozovic, Fofana, and Sadio Mané.

Within the initial 20 minutes, Madu initiated the scoring sequence with a strategic pass to Talisca. The Brazilian adeptly managed the ball, setting up Ronaldo for a signature finish, and the familiar “Siuuu” chant echoed throughout Abha. Shortly after, Al Nassr expanded their lead, courtesy of a precise link-up between Al Khaibari and Al Ghannam. The third nail in the coffin came from Brozovic’s collaboration with Telles, setting up Fofana to take the scoreline to 3-0. The only blip for the Saudi Pro League giants came in the form of an own goal by Madu, inadvertently redirecting Zrida’s cross into his goal.

The second half saw Raja Casablanca valiantly attempting a comeback. However, their efforts were repeatedly thwarted by Al Nassr’s goalkeeper, Nawaf, who showcased stellar form throughout the match.

The semi-final berth will now see Al Nassr clash with Iraq’s Al Shorta, while Al Hilal will lock horns with Al Shabab in the other semi-final match-up.

All eyes are now set on the 2023 Arab Club Champions Cup finale, scheduled for Saturday at the Prince Sultan bin Abdul Aziz Stadium in Abha, Saudi Arabia.
