Shah Mahmood Qureshi, the Vice Chairman of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), was taken into custody earlier today from his home in the capital city. The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) arrested him amidst an ongoing probe regarding coded messages that PTI claims carried threats from the U.S. to remove Imran Khan from his position.
The PTI has validated the reports about Qureshi’s detention and informed that he is being transported to the FIA main office in Islamabad.
This development follows a recent media conference held by Qureshi where he clarified rumors surrounding internal disputes among the PTI leadership, specifically in the wake of the imprisonment of party head, Imran Khan.
