From Blossoms<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/h1>\n<\/div>\n

From blossoms comes<\/span><\/div>\n
this brown paper bag of peaches<\/span><\/div>\n
we bought from the boy<\/span><\/div>\n
at the bend in the road where we turned toward\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n
signs painted\u00a0Peaches<\/em>.<\/span><\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
From laden boughs, from hands,<\/span><\/div>\n
from sweet fellowship in the bins,<\/span><\/div>\n
comes nectar at the roadside, succulent<\/span><\/div>\n
peaches we devour, dusty skin and all,<\/span><\/div>\n
comes the familiar dust of summer, dust we eat.<\/span><\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
O, to take what we love inside,<\/span><\/div>\n
to carry within us an orchard, to eat<\/span><\/div>\n
not only the skin, but the shade,<\/span><\/div>\n
not only the sugar, but the days, to hold<\/span><\/div>\n
the fruit in our hands, adore it, then bite into\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n
the round jubilance of peach.<\/span><\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
There are days we live<\/span><\/div>\n
as if death were nowhere<\/span><\/div>\n
in the background; from joy<\/span><\/div>\n
to joy to joy, from wing to wing,<\/span><\/div>\n
from blossom to blossom to<\/span><\/div>\n
impossible blossom, to sweet impossible blossom.<\/span><\/div>\n
